Try it free for 14 daysDays or months
A notice period of 30 days and one of a month can end on different days. Use the unit your contract states, so the last working day matches what both sides agreed.
Leaving early
When someone leaves before their notice ends, the shortfall is usually recovered from their final settlement, or they pay it. Some employers waive it; put the decision in writing.
Questions
Is the resignation day counted in the notice period?
It depends on the contract. Most count from the day after the resignation is accepted; some count the day itself. Pick the one your contract uses — the result says which rule it applied.
How is a month of notice counted?
A month runs to the day before the same date next month: notice given from 15 March ends on 14 April. When that date doesn't exist, it ends on the month's last day.
How is the notice buyout worked out?
The days not served times a day's pay. A day's pay is monthly pay divided by 30, or by the days in the month, whichever your contract or policy uses.
Do you keep what I type?
