Hi, I'm VERA, insiderOne's SI evidence agent.

Know what's actually true.

VERA builds each applicant's record against your role: every claim beside its evidence, what disagrees, and what is still open. It gathers the rest with the candidate's consent and hands your final round a memo.

14-day free trial of the workspace. VERA is in early access and comes with your company's approval: ₹299 +18% GST / $15 / AED 59 excl. VAT per candidate case, 10 a month included on Business. Outside checks are the provider's cost plus 20%, published once a licensed provider is connected.

Highlights

Verification that starts with what you already know

Most of what you need is already on the application. The rest is usually one well-chosen question away.

What don't we know about Priya?
SQL and dbt are verified. Airflow is only claimed. The quickest way to settle it is to ask her to prove it.
Ask Priya to prove AirflowSend the ask

A record, not a verdict

Every skill, job, degree and certificate beside where it came from: verified, only they say so, to reconcile, or open. No trust score, and a gap is something to find out.

It gathers the rest

Approve a plan once for a role. VERA sends the screening and proof asks, and gives the candidate a page to confirm their current employer and name referees at work addresses.

Ask Priya to prove Airflow

Asked. It shows on her application when she does.

Ask the panel when they can interview Priya

Request an employment check on Priya

Send consent request

The candidate gets to answer

Where a record disagrees with itself, and your plan asks for it, VERA puts the question to the candidate. The memo shows their answer beside the two facts. It never moves an applicant, and a background check is always your button.

Evidence

Evidence a candidate can't just type in

What someone only says about themselves is labelled as claimed. This is what VERA gathers to settle it, each piece marked with where it came from.

A code at their current work address

Shows they hold a working address at their current employer today, not just a line on a CV.

Referees at a company on their record

Each referee they name is asked only at a work address of a company on their record.

Proof of what only they claim

Where a must-have is claimed and nobody has verified it, VERA asks them to prove it.

Your screening and your panel

The screening report and your interviewers' scorecards are part of the record.

Their passbook, as their own upload

Their EPFO passbook is read once and deleted. It is shown as what the passbook lists, never as verified.

What they verified on insiderOne

Skills a member proved on insiderOne, with a live test, a work sample or a named person's vouch, arrive already marked verified.

Approve once, then read the memo

  1. 01

Approve a plan for a role

Choose what VERA gathers when you shortlist someone and before an offer. Every background check stays one button per person.

  2. 02

    VERA builds the record

Each applicant who reaches a stage gets a case: every claim beside its evidence, marked verified, only they say so, to reconcile, or open.

  3. 03

    The candidate adds theirs

On a page of their own: a code to their work address, referees at their employers' domains, their EPFO passbook read once, and answers to anything that disagrees. The page works for 30 days after the last ask.

  4. 04

    You get the memo

What is established, what is open, what to reconcile with their answer beside it, and at most 3 questions worth asking in the final round.

What runs on its own

What VERA does by itself, and what waits for you

A plan you approve once per role is what sets VERA going. Nothing it does on its own moves an applicant or orders a check.

On its own, inside a plan you approved

  • Opening a case when someone reaches a stage in your plan
  • Sending the screening interview and the asks for proof
  • Questions to the candidate where their record disagrees with itself
  • The candidate's own page: a code to their work address, referees, their passbook
  • Asking the referees they name
  • Rewriting the memo when new evidence arrives, and telling you when a line you'd act on changes

Waits for a person

  • Approving the plan for a role
  • Every background check: your button for each person, then their consent
  • Moving, passing on or hiring anyone
  • Resuming a paused plan

Every step VERA takes, and every decision a person made on its proposals, is on the Agent activity page, with an export.

Background checks

And when you need a background check

The 8 checks VERA can request

Each waits for the candidate's consent on their own page. Several are legally restricted and need a stated purpose; those are marked.

Simulated for now. No licensed provider is connected yet, so a check can be requested only on a test application made with your own email, and its result says it is simulated.

On a US role, criminal, credit history, driving record and international checks can't be requested yet: US law (the FCRA) needs steps insiderOne doesn't run yet. Referees there confirm employment only: that they worked there, the title and the dates.

Identity

Simulated for now

Confirm the person is who the application says they are, before anything else is worth checking.

Employment

Simulated for now

Job titles, dates and how a role actually ended — the claims most often quietly rounded up on a CV.

Education

Simulated for now

Institution, dates and the qualification itself, checked against the record rather than the résumé.

Criminal

Simulated for nowrestrictedNot on US roles yet

Court and police records across the jurisdictions that apply, alongside sanctions and watchlist screening.

Jurisdiction-specific: each region sets who may request criminal records and on what grounds.

Credit history

Simulated for nowrestrictedNot on US roles yet

Credit history for roles where financial exposure genuinely warrants it — not as a default screen.

Requires a permissible purpose and a licensed bureau relationship. Not lawful for every role.

Driving record

Simulated for nowrestrictedNot on US roles yet

Licence status, endorsements and driving history — for roles where someone will be behind a wheel.

Driving records are released only to authorised requesters in most jurisdictions.

Licence & certification

Simulated for now

Professional licences and certifications confirmed with the issuing body, not the candidate's copy of the certificate.

International

Simulated for nowrestrictedNot on US roles yet

Criminal, employment and education checks run in the country the record actually lives in, not approximated from home.

Each country sets its own rules on who may check what, and on cross-border data transfer.

When it ends

Every case has an end, and every person a way out

Cases close with the application

When an applicant is passed on, withdraws or is hired, the case closes and any link still waiting stops working. A check awaiting consent is withdrawn, unless they were hired.

Links that expire

The candidate's page and their referees' links work for 30 days after the last thing asked of them. A consent link for a check lasts 14 days.

Withdraw anything they added

On their own page, the candidate can withdraw their current-employer confirmation, their references, their EPFO passbook or their answers. You stop seeing it at once, and the memo is rewritten without it.

Delete the application, delete the case

Deleting an application deletes its case and everything the candidate added to it, their referees' answers included.

Referees can say no for good

Every reference request carries “Don't ask me again”. After that, no one on insiderOne asks that person for a reference. A one-way copy of the address keeps the promise, never the address.

Told it is AI

The email that opens a candidate's page, their work-address code and every request to a referee carry: “Sent by VERA, insiderOne's AI evidence agent, for your company.” A person at your company makes every decision.

Built to be defensible

Consent before anything runs

A check can't start without a named applicant's consent, recorded against a specific application. Nothing is queried until they agree on their own page.

An audit trail by construction

Every step is recorded with its time and who took it: the plan, each ask, each answer, each check. Download any case's record, and see every agent action on the Agent activity page.

Ready for a licensed provider

Checks go through one connection point, not a vendor's own software. Connecting a licensed provider, or a different one per kind of check, changes nothing around it.

Facts, not documents

A passbook is read once and never stored. No table holds an Aadhaar number. What the candidate adds, they can withdraw.

The questions worth asking
